Good Meat reveals how a former high school star athlete, who became obese after years of poor diet and lack of exercise, reclaimed his health by returning to his traditional Oglala Lakota diet.
Produced by Sam Hurst and programmed by Native American Public Telecommunications, the documentary tracks 35-year-old Beau LeBeau struggling to walk the hills he used to run on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Weighing in at 333 pounds at the start of the film, LeBeau discovers he has Type II Diabetes, a disease that lead to his mother's death at a young age.
This group will meet on the forth Saturday of each month, at OCUUF, until further notice. Goal of the committee is to educate the congregation and the community about environmental issues and projects to support local concerns.
