Social Justice

Our members tend to be involved in many social justice activities in the community.

When four or more members of Open Circle have a commitment to an issue and wish to address it within both the fellowship and the larger community, they may form a social justice team.

Open Circle currently has two such active action groups. Follow the links for additional detail and contact information.

  • Eco-Food Group. This group focuses on the interrelatedness of our food choices and a whole host of social and environmental justice issues, such as the wages of field workers, the energy used to transport food, and mercury in our lakes and fish from coal-burning emissions. The question, "How, then, shall we eat?" is a central one and worthy of deep consideration. Contact Eco-Food Group Coordinator.

  • Diversity Team. This group seeks to make both the fellowship and the greater Fond du Lac community welcoming to all. Our current focus is on the UUA Welcoming Congregation program. Contact Diversity Team Coordinator.
