Open Circle's ministry supports individual growth and wholeness in body, mind, and spirit so that in coming together we can pursue peace, justice, compassion and sustainability in the creation of Beloved Community.
Worship at Open Circle is a celebration of life, beauty and grace. It is an opportunity to explore together what is true and just, what matters and what doesn't. As the origin of the word implies, worship is a time to attend to what is worthy. In worship we journey together toward wholeness.
Sunday programming at Open Circle is diverse in both content and format. As a small, primarily lay-led congregation, we offer what might be called a "traditional worship service" - including music, hymns, readings, sharing of joys and concerns, and sermon - typically on the first and third Sundays of the month.
On the second and fourth Sundays the format is more educational (a guest presenter speaking on a social justice issue or sharing from teachings of a world religion) or perhaps a discussion relevant to our life together in community. We typically enjoy food and fellowship with a pot luck meal on fifth Sundays. Coffee fellowship time concludes the Sunday mornings.
Sunday worship or programs are held each Sunday at 10:00 a.m. from the second Sunday in September to the last Sunday of June. Special programs and activities are scheduled in July and August.
