The department has implemented a program utilizing a social worker to handle low level emergency calls to provide resources and support people with mental illness and disabilities. Chief Goldstein welcomes a discussion about this community partnership. Throughout the course of his career, Goldstein has been awarded several Department commendations, including the Distinguished Service Award and Meritorious Service Award. Additionally, he has also served the Department as a Professional Communications Skills Instructor and more.

The second of three cleanups is scheduled for Saturday beginning at our UU sign on Highway 23 west near County I. Look for Mike's car with the trunk open. You can pick up vests and bags from said trunk. Please return vests to my car before you leave. You may tie your filled bags and leave them along the highway. I will pick them up later. In case of inclement weather, I will email everyone by 7 am to cancel and give you the alternate date. If I do not have your email, you will need to send it to me at myk542000@gmail.com. Thank you for your volunteer participation, Mike Hayes If you would like to join us as a new member let Mike Hayes know at 920-960-5216 or myk542000@gmail.com. Please keep in mind that you are not obligated to show up if you have other plans. And there is no need to let me know about it. Just inform me if you would like to be on the list and I'll send you details. It usually takes over 1 hour to complete a clean-up depending how many volunteers show up. The other date is October 19. In case of inclement weather I always email everyone by 7:00 am. That is a big reason why I need your email address. We begin at 8:30 am. Lorri Bohn: ADVOCAP Head Start (in-service only)

In-Person Only Sunday Service! Lorri Bohn - ADVOCAP Head Start: A Two-Generational Model Many families and children today experience a sense of being "undernourished" They are often overwhelmed, overworked, and under-resourced both emotionally and physically. This realization inspired Lorri to expand her focus, dedicating herself and addressing these challenges holistically with families served at ADVOCAP Head Start. She works to create an inclusive and supportive environment where individuals and families can thrive, providing them with tools and resources to build on hopes and dreams. Her talk this morning will describe this model of care. Bio: Lorri is a graduate of Marian College with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services. This academic foundation provided her with the knowledge and skills to begin a life long journey of advocacy work. From 1996 to 2019 she worked extensively in the field of victim services, supporting victims of domestic violence and helping them reclaim their lives. Lorri began her career at ADVOCAP Head Start in February 2019 as the Family Engagement Manager, and more recently transitioned to the Training & Development Manager as of January 2024. Note: Due to a shortage of tech people, this services will be in-person only. We will not have a zoom option on this Sunday.
